Configuration and Setup:
This system is setup with dual 96-well 200ul multiprobe heads. Each arm has its own set of microplate grippers.
This configuration allows for very customizable method creation while maximizing plate movement around the deck.
With the addition of the wash station this system is capable of reusing the disposable tips without the concern of cross contamination of samples or reagents.
The video begins with a full view of the Beckman Coulter Biomek FXP Liquid Handler. The camera pans in to show the method created for this demonstration.
Once the program is started the deck is then brought into view. The demo begins with both 96 heads loading disposable tips from their separate tipboxes.
Once loaded the right head moves to the reservoir at position 10 and aspirates 200ul of green distilled water.
The right arm then moves to the empty microplate in position 9 and dispenses all 200ul into the wells.
Next the left arm with tips loaded moves to the reservoir at position 2 and aspirates 200ul of yellow distilled water.
At this time the right arm has moved to position 10 and is aspirating 200ul of distilled water.
The left head then dispenses the 200ul of yellow distilled water into the microplate at position 5.
The right head then dispenses the 200ul of distilled water into the microplate at position 7.
The left head then moves to the reservoir at position 1 and aspirates 200ul of blue distilled water.
The right head then aspirates 100ul of distilled water from the microplate in position 7 and transfers it to the microplate at position 8.
At the same time the left arm is aspirating 200ul of blue distilled water into the microplate at position 3.
The left head then moves to position 5 and aspirates 100ul of yellow distilled water and aspirates it into the microplate at position 6.
The left head then begins a unload and load demonstration of the tips to show repeatably of the autoloader.
The left head then aspirates 100ul of blue distilled water from position 3 microplate and dispenses it into position 6 microplate.
After a tip change the left head then performs a mix cycle of the microplate in position 6.
The right arm moves out of the way while the left head moves to washstation and washes the tips.
The right head then moves to the microplate at position 9 and aspirates 100ul of green distilled water and dispenses it into the microplate at position 8.
The right head then performs a wash cycle before returning to position 8 to perform a mix cycle.
The left arm then moves out of the way as the right arm aspirates 100ul from position 6 and dispenses it into position 4.
The right arm then unloads its tips while the left arm transfers 100ul of green distilled water from the microplate in position 6 to the microplate in position 4.
The right arm then transfers a plate from position 7 and stacks it at position 9. The left head then unloads the tips into the tipbox.
The left head then transfers the plate from position 3 and stacks it on position 6. The left head then stacks the microplate from position 4 to position 8.
